Margaret Cho’s unabashedly angry anthem for survivors

Margaret Cho is a Grammy-nominated comedian, actress and singer-songwriter, as well as a recovering addict, former sex worker and sexual assault survivor. Cho is a vocal advocate for marginalized groups and a master of tackling tough subjects. Cho recently released a vivid revenge-fantasy music video for her latest single, “I Want to Kill My Rapist.”

By creating an unabashedly angry anthem for survivors, Cho says she has found solace.

“You better run now, while I’m having fun now,” she sings as the camera pans a group of children twirling nunchucks on a sunny playground. “Now you’re dead, gun to your head,” Cho wails as the song reaches its crescendo. “’Cause what you did, I can’t forgive.”
